FOTO-SOFIA is a Youth & Community development Organization, FOTO-SOFIA is a not-for-profit & independent non-government organizations dedicated to the practical realization of Global, Regional & National Development Initiatives, like the UN- MDGs, AU development policies and Nigeria’s National NEEDS Program aimed at fighting poverty, hunger, and injustice around our community.

Our mission is a peaceful community without poverty, hunger and injustice, our aim is to enable people to exercise their rights and manage their own lives.

History of Foto-sofia

FOTO-SOFIA was first conceived in 2000, the learning phase of FOTO-SOFIA lasted for about 4 years, skeletal services were rendered here and there, mostly without any record kept, but the joy of the service was too much for the young group, at about 2005, FOTO-SOFIA hit the streets and started making meaningful impart in the lives of the public, formed by a group of like-minded independent youths in Asaba, who wanted to work together nationally now and in future internationally to achieve greater impact in reducing poverty by their collective efforts.

This group of citizens believes in dialogue, conference, workshop, campaign, advocacy, public enlightenment as a powerful tool for development, we do not believe in violence, no matter the degree, nature or type, whether active or passive, peaceful environment makes for the greatest good.

We are working to become part of a national network of Citizens, are capable of national responses to national issues. We are aiming to create ways of working and structures appropriate to national action in a complex and diversified Country.

since 2006 FOTO-SOFIA has kept a record of about 1838 youths, who had both directly and indirectly benefited from our free services in basic computer education; public health education; human right protection education; career development workshop; self reliance workshop; leadership lesson; wealth creation workshop; business management skills; investment opportunity skills and other youth development programs.

We works with community leaders, partner organizations, public sector, and well spirited individuals in undertaking long-term development tasks, emergency work, research and campaigning for a fairer nation.

We works on a broad range of issues, including globalization, development goals, ICT, health, education, human rights, agriculture food sufficiency and Indigenous Craft & Techniques.

mission of the Southeast ATC is to provide training for high school and adult students, displaced workers and unemployed individuals in Southeast Utah for employment in skilled or semi-skilled jobs; to provide on-the-job training leading to higher proficiency and retention, or placement in skilled craft jobs; and to bring education and business together to assist students in receiving the most benefit from their applied technology instruction.

MISSION OBJECTIVES: Provide personalized, open-entry/open-exit, competency-based, applied technology instruction to high school and adult applied technology students, displaced workers, and unemployed individuals for employment in skill intensive occupations.

Provide occupational upgrade instruction through approved Custom Fit or regular applied technology programs to employed individuals to improve skills and-or retention.

Offer personalized open-entry/open-exit, competency-based, applied technology instruction on a year-round basis (subject to sufficient enrollment and funding) not tied to pre-set dates such as the traditional school semester or quarter.

Provide short-term, intensive, task-specific, instruction closely aligned with the needs of business and industry. Competencies and length of training are determined with input from ATC program advisory committees.
